Are there any drawbacks when pets eat raw eggs?
Some of the fears about giving raw eggs to our pets come from the notion of becoming deficient in Biotin. This deficiency can occur by avoiding food that contains egg whites since it interferes with their body's ability to absorb Biotin. However, there are people that claim that egg yolk has a higher content of Biotin.
We believe that there is a possibility of being Biotin deficient if your pets only eat the white part of an egg for an extended period of time. However, we are also concerned the possibility that your pet can acquire Salmonella. Therefore, we recommend that your pets only eat organic eggs to avoid Salmonella.
